One evening a month FAR hosts a Research Night and invites students, faculty, and the community for an event featuring presentations by affiliated artists. The presenting artists envision the format for the evening, and previous events have taken the form of film screenings, art supply swaps, artist talks, theatrical readings, and a soup dinner.
Research Nights are an opportunity for FAR to give a public introduction to FAR and Away Artists and Scholars in Residence, FAR Fellows and visiting artists working with the in-house projects Comma, SCAP and REBOOT.
The presentations take place in FAR’s common room that was designed under the direction of Chalet Comellas to be a space where the modular furniture that can be rearranged as needed for large presentations or one-on-one collaborations. The seating was up-cycled from the office furniture and cubicle walls that previously occupied the room.
Take a look at our schedule and join us for a Research Night in the near future!
