Join us for an evening with Owen Mundy and get an introduction to his investigations and its relationship to data. Among other projects, Owen will discuss “I Know Where Your Cat Lives” – a data visualization experiment exploring the public display of personal data using a sample of 1 million mapped cat photos leveraging a publicly available API.
Owen is a researcher, designer and technologist who investigates the relationship between data and public spaces. He has an MFA in Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego and is an Associate Professor in Digital Media at Florida State University. His work has been covered in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Time Magazine, NPR’s All Things Considered, and Wired Magazine. Follow him @owenmundy
